New communication and engagement manager

Ivey

GREEN BAY – Brown County United Way has named Cierra Ivey as its new communication and engagement manager.

In the role, Ivey will be responsible for developing communication and engagement tactics that support the nonprofit’s mission, fundraising and relationship management strategies.

Originally from North Carolina, Ivey graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 2020 and has spent the last two years working as a news producer at WFRV Local 5 News.

Green Bay district recognizes community partners
GREEN BAY – The Green Bay School Board presented two inaugural awards to valued community partners at its meeting Monday, June 27.

The Friend of Education Award was presented to Chris Woleske, president and CEO of Bellin Health, and Dr. Ashok Rai, president and CEO of Prevea Health.

“Both Bellin and Prevea were of tremendous support to the board as we faced daunting decisions at a time when information and circumstances changed quickly during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Board President Laura McCoy said.

The Champion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award was presented to Father Ken De Groot and Sister Melanie Maczka of Casa ALBA Melanie.

“The Greater Green Bay community has been blessed with their servant leadership and incredible example of how to embrace and celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion,’’ McCoy said.

COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as six months
WISCONSIN – Prevea Health announced it will begin offering COVID-19 vaccines for children as young as six months old beginning July 6 at its locations throughout the state.
The announcement follows approvals and recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, FDA and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

You do not have to be a Prevea patient to obtain a vaccine.

Bayer joins United Way board
BROWN COUNTY – Brown County United Way announced Vicki Bayer, the interim superintendent for the Green Bay School District, as a new member of its board of directors.

The role of the board of directors is to provide visioning, direction setting and results accountability.
Bayer will serve a three-year term.

Krumenauer

New administrator starts in Bellevue
BELLEVUE – Ben Krumenauer, Bellevue’s new village administrator, officially started in his role Monday, June 27.

Krumenauer has been in the municipal field since 2007, and has been an administrator since 2016.

In his role, Krumenauer will serve as the village’s chief administrative officer and is responsible for the implementation of the Village Board’s policies and priorities.

Two area business receive craftsman awards
BROWN COUNTY – The Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) named nine winners of Badger Craftsman Awards – including two in Brown County.

Alair Homes located in Green Bay and De Pere was recognized with the best new build ($750,000-$1.2 million).

Green Bay’s Atkins Family Builders was awarded the best single-family development recognition.
This is the second year WBA has recognized businesses through its Badger Craftsman Awards program.

BayCare Clinic adds diagnostic radiologist
GREEN BAY – BayCare Clinic Radiology has added Dr. Frank Bonelli, a diagnostic radiologist specializing in neuroradiology, to its team.

Before coming to Green Bay, Bonelli served as the chair and medical director of the Department of Medical Imaging at Swedish American Hospital for 12 years in Rockford, Illinois.

Bonelli obtained his medical degree from the University of Illinois, completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at the Mayo Clinic, completed fellowship training in neuroradiology at the Washington University Department of Radiology and is board certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Community Foundation opens doors at former train depot
GREEN BAY – The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation officially opened the doors of its new location located in the historic train depot at 400 S. Washington St. in downtown Green Bay.

“The vision for this space is deeply rooted in our community’s history and service to one another and made possible by forward-thinking members of our community with a vision of advancing our collective impact,” President/CEO Dennis Buehler said.


Over the past 30 years, the foundation has invested more than $150 million dollars into the community.

Titletown District will host Hunter Hayes
ASHWAUBENON – Hunter Hayes will be the next artist to grace the Titletown Plaza stage for the monthly outdoor concert series presented by Water Joe.

The multi-platinum-selling recording artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16.

Free parking will be available in the Titletown and Lambeau Field parking lots.

Brown County students receive Cellcom scholarships
BROWN COUNTY – Three area graduates – Joseph Bonadonna (Notre Dame Academy), Brooklynn Buresh (Denmark High School) and Peter Kiernan (Green Bay East High School) – were among 16 students to receive $750 scholarships from Cellcom.

Recipients were selected based on community involvement, academic record, potential to succeed, leadership, participation in school activities, honors, work experience and an essay on community impact.

Ledgeview receives second grant for pollinator habitat
LEDGEVIEW – The Town of Ledgeview recently received a second $5,000 grant from American Transmission Co. (ATC) to continue a pollinator habitat beneath an ATC electric transmission line.
This is the second year in a row Ledgeview has been awarded the grant.

Park and Recreation Director Stephanie Schlag said the second plot of pollinator-friendly plants is located closer to the Winding Waters Way entrance to Ledgeview Park.

ATC Environmental Project Manager Johanna Sievewright said the Pollinator Habitat Program promotes the planting of low-growing vegetation within a transmission line right-of-way to beautify communities.
